It is an honor – and humbling – to let you know that I have been elected to be the 2017 President of the IEEE. Details can be found here.
It is possibly the biggest step in my entire career, and I look forward to serving the over 400,000 members and 1,200 professional staff of the world’s largest professional society.
In 2016, I will be President-elect. During this time I will continue to learn even more about the IEEE while helping drive the execution of the next phase of IEEE’s strategic plan. In 2018, I will be Past President, bringing the next President up to speed.
While I will continue with Synopsys next year, I will have many new duties to take on – beyond standards and the standards game. So, this will be my last post on this blog. Wow, saying that makes me melancholy.
If you would like to follow my adventures with the IEEE, come visit me on my IEEE website.
It has been a pleasure writing this blog and playing the standards game. I wish you all the very best!
