Verification challenges continue to persist over time for chip design. It’s generally accepted that verification takes 70% of the effort for today’s chip design. John Blyler and Holly Stump lead a conversation about a panel that was upcoming at the 48th Design Automation Conference called “Verification: What’s in Your Wallet?”
Jim Miller describes his role at AMD, and talks about some of the difficulties, costs and time requirements of verifying some of the most complex chips on the planet. Towards the end of the discussion, Jim gives his opinion on cloud computing to help solve the verification challenge.
