Conversation Central took on a more festive feel on this broadcast with guest Jennifer Cullenbine, CEO and Queen Elf of The Family Giving Tree. Jennifer was kind enough to take time out of her hectic schedule this time of year to come and discuss the fantastic organization she founded twenty years ago.
Jennifer shares how the idea for The Family Giving Tree came about and how her team, with the help of corporations, schools, small businesses and individuals is able to fulfill the wishes of over 60,000 children every holiday season as well as prepare and donate 18,000 backpacks for needy children going back to school. But the goodwill doesn’t stop there; The Family Giving Tree in addition helps the elderly as well as children with special needs.
The idea of teaching philanthropy was also discussed. Jennifer strongly believes in the practice of getting youth involved and educating them on the importance of giving to those less fortunate than themselves.
